BOOK 2.0 | September 5th and 6th, 2024 | Oriente Museum, Lisbon
The Associação Portuguesa de Editores e Livreiros (APEL) invites you to participate in the second edition of Book 2.0, the biggest event meant for the discussion of the future of books in Portugal and Europe, on the 5th and 6th of September, at the Museu do Oriente, in Lisbon. Registration for media is open and available HERE with the code MEDIA, and on the event website book.apel.pt you may also find the schedule for the two days and all confirmed speakers. Requests for interviews, to be carried out either before or during the event, should be addressed to Lift team (contact details below).
Under the theme #TheFutureOfReading, Book 2.0 aims to place the main challenges that books and reading face at the center of the debate, through the voices of today's great national and international writers and thinkers, pointing out ways to overcome them.
The 2024 edition of Book 2.0 has the support of Câmara Municipal de Lisboa, Rede de Bibliotecas de Lisboa – BLX, Direção-Geral do Livro, dos Arquivos e das Bibliotecas (DGLAB), Plano Nacional de Leitura, Fundação Oriente, International Publishers Association, European and International Booksellers Federation, World Literacy Foundation, Federation of European Publishers, Clube das Mulheres Escritoras, C. Santos VP and Altis Belém, having Vanilla Project as its strategic and production partner.
This edition has the High Patronage of His Excellency The President of the Portuguese Republic and takes place in parallel with the Festa do Livro de Belém, which will be held from the 5th to the 8th of September at the Jardins do Palácio de Belém – an initiative of the The President of the Portuguese Republic with APEL, and the collaboration of BLX – Bibliotecas de Lisboa.
